Woodland Beast depicts a creature emerging from shadow and foliage, its features caught between animal instinct and human recognition. The face is fractured—eyes misaligned, teeth exaggerated, expression suspended between threat and vulnerability—suggesting a being shaped as much by its environment as by its own internal force.

The surrounding brushwork functions less as background and more as extension of the figure itself. Marks accumulate like undergrowth, fur, and motion, blurring the boundary between body and landscape.
